Welcome

Mark Brayne

An Accredited Consultant with EMDR Europe, I’m an experienced and accredited psychotherapist specialising in trauma, anxiety, depression and relationships, working midweek near Paddington in London and on Mondays and Fridays on the North Norfolk coast in Sheringham.

Given that you’ve come to this site, the chances are that you’re looking for insightful and practical support in working through emotional stress and crisis – midlife, relationship, work, performance, misery old or new of which you’ve just had enough.

If so, working with you we might just be able to make a difference. To get an idea of how I work, I’ve summarised my approach to psychotherapy here,

And for how this is experienced on the receiving end, do read some of the kind testimonials former clients have written for this website.

As well as working with individuals, I am a qualified psychotherapy supervisor supporting those working towards EMDR Practitioner or Consultant status. As a former BBC and Reuters foreign correspondent and editor, I also support journalists and news organisations in the reporting and personal impact of traumatic events.

You can book places on my latest training courses using the PayPal buttons on the right of each page, or here for the next of my regular series of Working with Trauma introductions for therapists and counsellors, on Friday Nov 7.

For more information about EMDR, follow the link under Psychotherapy for my own explanation of what this is, or take a look at the website of the European EMDR Association.

While it’s always best if possible to meet face-to-face, I am happy to meet you online with Skype/Google Hangouts.

I also love the landscape of New Zealand, which is where I photographed most of the banner landscapes on this website during a cycling tour of the South Island in 2012.

If you’d like to know more about how I work, about my fees and my availability, please do get in touch.
